3/3/13: Ingulit’s Video Cookbook, Episode 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quM7iIOdsLE

The second episode of my video blog series is up! In it, I discuss how I store my parts, what tools I use for keeping my parts in working order, and how to fix Beylaunchers, Metal Faces, and Metal Flats!

2/22/13: I missed getting mail

I got some new arrivals in the mail today: Shinobi Genbull, Hell Beelzeb, and a Archer Gryph booster! Like usual, I’m going to post the weights here:

2/8/13: A Little Hyper (Aesthetic Review)

Hey everyone! I had the idea to make a post series where I review how new Beyblades look. For my first review, I’m writing this at my local Target where they finally have some Hyperblades in stock, so let’s check them out! I’ll even give them ratings out of five based purely on how they look (I’m not going to go over competitive value in this series).

Kreis Cygnus
* I actually really like the face bolt color scheme, sort of a black/blue with a yellow Cygnus. It’s better than the others, anyway!
* Cygnus looks decent, but the fact that the yellow is opaque really hurts the aesthetics. Still, not bad.
* The opaque sky blue 145WD is really, really ugly.
RATING: 2/5

L-DRAGO DESTRUCTOR
* The face bolt is gross like most of them.
* The black metal frame is actually quite nice, though I’m on the fence about the orange.
* The green PC core is beautiful; it’s my favorite part on this Hyperblade.
* The opaque orange F:S looks like a traffic cone, and not in a good way. (someone should paint it to look like a traffic cone lol)
RATING: 2.5/5

FLASH SAGITTARIO
* Face bolt is ugly
* I really, REALLY like Saggitario. I prefer this color of yellow/orange and the green highlights are subtle, but add a lot to it.
* The track and tip are the same pale yellow as before. At least they’re still transparent!
RATING: 3.5/5

PHANTOM ORION
* The face bolt is passably good, though I wish it was transparent.
* Orion. OH MY LORD ORION. Now that I’ve seen this in person and can see the color of the transparent red, I can say this might be my favorite Orion yet. The green highlights are a bummer, but not detrimental.
* The opaque yellow B:D just seems really ugly for some reason, not totally sure why.
RATING: 2.5/5

That’s all for what they had at this store; as I run across more I’ll do more reviews! Until then!

2/4/13: Train of Thought: Bahamdia

The following post is part of my “Train of Thought” series where I go through my thought process when testing parts and coming up with new combos. This will basically be me talking to myself.

This train of thought is on the Chrome Wheel Bahamdia and the potential new Attack combo that I came across:

Twin Ball + SR200 = ?

As I am writing this I am also unpacking my new Bahamdia and am extremely excited to start testing it, but first I want to post about the tests I was doing yesterday.

Twin Ball

This past Christmas I got a ZGRB3 and in it I was very happy to pull a Gryph and TB. Gryph is an awesome wheel (KainHighwind has been doing exciting things with it), and TB is a very unique and relatively untested part (perfect for me!).

I’m not going to lie, when I first saw the render for TB I immediately wrote it off as being terrible, but KainHighwind came along and mentioned it actually has pretty good stamina. Now that I have had a chance to experiment with it myself, I can confirm that he was right (he’s usually right, haha!). I decided to put TB on some standard Duo stamina customs, and the results were impressive.

Most of the following tests were against MF-M Duo Cygnus 230MB:

1/6/13: Christmas and Collecting

Hey everyone! It has been far too long since I updated this blog, and unfortunately that trend might continue as I move into my final semester of college. That doesn’t mean I’ve been sitting on my hands, though! I’m still very into Beyblading and testing, I just haven’t put the time I should have into keep this up-to-date. So, here’s a long overdue post, and hopefully there will be more to come soon!

CHRISTMAS AND COLLECTING

I’m starting to build a collection of Beys/parts I don’t intend to use, namely rare beys or parts that I really like. As an example of the latter, I am almost finished with collecting every official Horogium recolor that exists; all that I’m missing is the gold one from the set that comes with Blitz! I also just picked up a Proto Nemesis today not because it is good (far from it; I might post about it soon, though the thread on the WBO should cover that) but because of how pretty it is.

Santa was kind to me this year in terms of Beyblades in both the competitive and collectable aspects of the hobby! This is what I was fortunate enough to get:

8/18/12: To school I go

Hey all, sorry I’ve been so inactive lately on this blog, but I’m going back to school and have to pack and all that business so I’ll probably not be doing much for the next few days while I get settled. After that, expect plenty of updates. Until then!

8/8/12: SA165 + Kreis = ???

I got my SA165 in the mail today, and as I’ve said other places I’m going to see if the flowerpot of doom has any potential (Kreis in Attack Mode and SA165).
